FAQs

What is Cosmetic Lip Blushing/Tattoo?

Cosmetic Lip Tattoo is a form of cosmetic tattooing where pigment is gently implanted into the lips to enhance colour, shape and definition.

Unlike traditional body tattooing, the technique applied superfically in the skin and lasts 1-3 years. The Lip Tattoo technique is designed specifically for the delicate lip tissue and can be tailored to suit your natural lip colour, skin tone, undertone and personal style.

What results can be acheived?

The result can be:

  • Soft and natural
  • Sheer and tinted
  • Rosy and fresh
  • Warm and neutral
  • More defined
  • Slightly bolder, similar to a soft lipstick effect

Your final result will depend on your natural lip tone, pigment choice, skin healing, lifestyle and whether additional sessions are required to build colour.

What can Lip Blushing help with?

The treatment can help with:

  • Pale or uneven lip colour
  • Loss of definition around the lip border
  • Cool, dull or uneven lip tone
  • Mild asymmetry
  • Creating a soft “your lips but better” colour
  • Reducing the need for daily lip tint or lipstick

Lip Blushing does not create volume like filler, but it can make the lips appear more defined and refreshed.

Does Lip Blushing hurt?

A topical anaesthetic is used to keep you as comfortable as possible. Most clients describe the treatment as very tolerable, although sensitivity can vary from person to person.

Can I have Lip Blushing if I have Lip Filler?

Yes, but the timing matters. Lip filler should be fully settled (4 weeks minimum) before Lip Blushing. Ensure you advise your Therapist you have Lip Filler in the Health and Medical Questionaire.

Do you have previous Lip Tattoo?

If you have had your Lips previously Tattooed pre-approval for suitability will be required before a treatment can be booked. Send a clear picture to 0499 204 301 or book a consultation.

How long does it last?

Lip Blushing usually lasts around 1–3 years, depending on your skin, lifestyle, lip tone, aftercare, sun exposure and how your body holds pigment.

What to expect

Your appointment includes a consultation, colour selection, lip mapping, numbing, and the tattoo procedure.

We will discuss your desired result, assess your natural lip tone, and choose a pigment colour suited to your skin tone, undertone and lip colour. The aim is to enhance your natural lips while keeping the healed result soft and flattering.

Immediately after treatment, lips will appear brighter and more intense. This is normal. As the lips heal, the colour softens significantly.

Healing time

Lip Blushing is a process. The healed colour is not judged by the immediate result.

Typical healing:

  • Day 1: Lips appear bright, swollen and more intense.
  • Days 2–4: Lips may feel dry, tight or flaky.
  • Days 4–7: Peeling usually settles and colour may look very light.
  • Weeks 4–8: Colour gradually resurfaces and settles into the skin.

A perfecting visit is included with your initial treatment and is usually required to build colour, adjust tone and refine the final result.
