Educating you about your skin

Nicole Smith

Our Therapists are passionate about Skin and we are sharing our knowledge to assist you with your Skin concerns.

Skin is a living organ.
The Skin is the largest organ of our body and its functions range from regulating our body temperature, protection as well as it accounts for about 15% of our body weight!
In regards to Skincare, the Skin renews itself around every 28 days and it requires twice daily attention for it to function correctly and to manage skin conditions such as acne, blackheads, dehydration, sensitivity, premature ageing and sun damage.
Your Skincare results are predominantly what you do at home.
In Salon Skin Treatments such as fortnightly or monthly Facials, LED phototherapy, Skin Needling, Peels, IPL Skin Rejuvenation and Microhydrabrasion will give you great results in conjunction with a daily and weekly Skincare regime.

Skin assessments and consultation.
No two skins are alike and neither is a homecare routine. Your skin changes like the seasons and there are many factors including lifestyle to consider when we recommend the correct products for you. Reach out to us if you need assistance selecting the correct products.
Your Skincare regime essentials!
  1. Use a 30+ SPF everyday no matter your skin type or condition. We have two options available when selecting a 30+ moisturiser. For oilier types we suggest the lightweight BT Shade 30+ and for skins that require more hydration we suggest the Ultraderm Daily Protector 30+.
  2. Take an EFA. An Essential Fatty Acid (an OMEGA 3 or 6) assists with the skin hydration levels and the cell function. The amount would depend on the condition of your skin. Reach out to us if you need assistance.
  3. Cleanse, tone and moisturise morning AND night. The skin detoxifies and renews itself overnight as well as accumulating pollution, sweat, makeup and sebaceous secretions during the day. This is an important step to avoid congestion and breakouts. Spritz a toner onto the skin after cleansing to rehydrate and brighten the skin.. we absolutely love the oil free Ultraderm Skin Karma Hydration Toner.
  4. Moisturise at night using a moisturiser to suit your concerns. We reccommend:
Anti-aging: Ultraderm Skin Renew Active Night Repair or the Ultraderm Skin Renew Tri-peptide.
Active Acne: Skin Karma Blemish Control Lotion. This lightweight product can also be used as a spot treatment or layered under your 30SPF moisturiser during the day.
To increase the hydration balance in the skin, we suggest the Karma Moisturiser.
  1. Exfoliate the skin 1-2 times per week with a chemical or physical exfoliator. Avoid exfoliating daily as this can over stimulate sebaceous activity within the skin or lead to dehydration. A chemical based exfoliator contain mild AHA's (acids) which removes build up and a physical exfoliator contains beads which assist with the process. Exfoliators can be both so it is important not to do this too regularly. Check out the Ultraderm Face & Body Polishing Cream. If you are suffering from active acne, inflammation or sensitivity we recommend the EMSI Gentle-Foliant in Rose and Bamboo or Ageless and hydrating.
  2. Add Serums and Boosters. Serums and Boosters are a potent product which delivers concentrated ingredients into the deeper layers of the skin to accelerate results. Serums are applied after cleansing, toning and exfoliating (if you are due to exfoliate) and before moisturiser. These products can be penetrated more effectively using our home Needle Roller Kit.
